Preparing for a beach holiday can inspire you to eat better, exercise more, and save your money for that perfect bathing suit. Here is some beach holiday inspiration for your 2018 getaway that will inspire all of those things.
Dominican Republic
Dominican Republic is a Caribbean Nation and it is a popular destination for golf, beaches and resorts. If you are travelling with a group, the Dominican Republic is great as there is so much to do. It has Pico Duarte, the tallest mountain in the Caribbean, and other diverse terrain such as rainforests, savannahs, and highlands. Bávaro, Punta Cana has a stunning backdrop of palm trees and is lined with stunning coral reefs.
The area is lined with beach resorts and is known for its calm waters and beaches that are great for families with small children. It is also a great location for a golfing vacation and so is Cap Cana. Be sure to visit Catalina Island about 1.5 kilometres off the coast and indulge in scuba diving and snorkeling. Head over to Samaná Bay where there is also excellent snorkeling and you can go whale watching as well.
Tenerife
Tenerife is the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands and it is dominated by Mt Teide which is Spain’s tallest peak. When you land at Tenerife South Airport, you can rent a car as the island is so small it only takes around an hour to get from one end to the other! Alternatively, if you are only staying for a few days then just take a taxi from the airport. Tenerife is popular for Carnaval de Santa Cruz, a festival with music, parades, colourful costumes and dancing.
Spend a day at El Médano, a spectacular beach to relax on or give kite surfing and windsurfing a try. Playa de la Arena and Playa de las Américas are both great accommodations that have great nightlife as well. The Special Nature Reserve Red Mountain is a great location for trekking on a volcanic mountain and has sandy beaches and stunning scenery. A couple of other beaches to see are the Playa de Troya and Playa de Los Cristianos which have stunning views and a relaxed atmosphere.
The Caribbean
You can visit Jamaica, an island nation in the Caribbean Island nation where reggae music originated. This beautiful country has a stunning landscape of mountains, rainforests and reef lined beaches. Be sure to visit Doctor’s Cave Beach Club, an area that popular for pristine white beaches and snorkeling in crystal clear turquoise waters.

Mauritius
Mauritius is off the South East coast of Africa and it is a great place for a beach holiday. The area is known for its coral reefs, lagoons and stunning beaches. A few of the beautiful beaches to visit are Île aux Cerfs, Le Morne Brabant, Flic-en-Flac and a remote island just off the coast called Île Plate.
Be sure to visit The Black River Gorges National Park, a mountainous region of Mauritius that is known for its waterfalls and trekking trails. It is also the habitat of the beautiful flying fox. Visit Grand Bale in the northern area which is popular for its cosmopolitan beach resorts, game fishing, kitesurfing, golf, parasailing and snorkelling.
